Jules Wabbes x Natalia Brilli

Craftsmanship as a foundation. A guiding principle that runs through the work of Jules Wabbes and continues today through new collaborations.

Jules Wabbes never wavered in his belief in noble materials and the precision of craftsmanship. It was this same commitment to material and technique that Caroline Colet, co-owner of General Decoration, recognised in the work of Natalia Brilli. With a longstanding sensitivity to materials, she first discovered Brilli’s work through her creations, including those for Studio KO. She began by acquiring several of her pieces and, captivated by the softness of the materials and the designer’s remarkable craftsmanship, decided to meet her.

From this encounter came “Jules”, a raffia tapestry created by Natalia Brilli as a tribute to the designer, which now hangs on the wall of the showroom.

“It depicts a landscape crossed by a tree, whose silhouette echoes the organic, sculptural lines of his tables, while the graphic motif translated into embroidery draws on the wenge tabletop of another remarkable piece by the designer. Raffia, raw and deeply tactile, brings a textile and artisanal dimension that naturally resonates with Wabbes’ work, in which noble materials and craftsmanship play an essential role.”

This exploration of material extends to light itself: the Hexagonal Table Lamp is presented in a new black ceramic finish, available in two sizes.
